Activ Blue Rooflight

Blue Tint Double Glazed Flat Rooflight

Activ™ Blue - overview

Our Blue tint Flat Rooflight is a double glazed unit, manufactured from Pilkington Activ™ Blue. This is an on-line coated body-tinted, self-cleaning and medium performance solar control glass, in an attractive blue colour.

Its surface #1 self-cleaning coating has photo-catalytic and hydrophilic properties. The unique blue colour helps to keep internal temperatures cool whilst still maintaining excellent light transmittance, low light reflection and high energy absorption. The rooflight with Activ Blue offers medium solar control performance helping to create a cooler internal environment which can be used all year round.

The rooflight is specially designed for the optimum roof unit, and is perfect for use in conservatories and winter gardens. Its self-cleaning properties make it ideal for use in hard-to-reach places that are difficult to clean.

Our Flat Rooflights are designed to be installed onto a kerb up-stand. This kerb should be a minimum of 150mm high to negate water ingress and should be level in one plane. The top of the kerb should be an angled plane to provide a pitch in order to help shed water from the glass and the kerb needs to be weathered.

Lead times for standard sizes are 2 to 3 weeks. Lead times for bespoke units range from  3-6 weeks, depending upon Rooflight type, glass spec and quantity required. To be 100% sure, please feel free to give us a call to discuss your project requirements

Our flat fixed rooflights are suitable for both flat and pitched roofs made of slate, tile, zinc or any other roof material, due to the independent upstand. You will need to create the upstand/kerb and then weather it with your roof material e.g. single-ply membrane, GRP, fibreglass etc. Our rooflight will then sit and seal against your weathered upstand. We provide you with all the fixings you need. You do not need any additional flashing kits with our fixed rooflights.

Yes, our rooflight sizes include a 10mm tolerance, so you can build the kerb to the same size as the size stated on the website.

Easy installation

Our roof lights are easy to install and provided as a fully assembled unit. An integral perimeter gasket creates an air and water seal without the need for site-applied silicone.

The product is secured via screw fixing to the builders kerb externally
